Blea Brows

Blea Brows is a 10-acre site on the western shore at the southern end of Coniston Water. It was bought by the Rawdon Smith Trust from the Lake District National Park in 2016 in order to maintain public access for recreation and to conserve the rich natural habitats. The land forms part of the Subberthwaite, Blawith and Torver Low Common Site of Special Scientific Interest.

There are two distinct sections. In the south there is lowland fen, wet woodland and reed beds, whilst the northern section is predominantly oak and birch woodland on rocky outcrops. There are many attractive views from the lakeshore.
