Who we are

The trustees aim to preserve the Trust’s property in perpetuity under local control for the purpose of affording to the public facilities for recreation.

Property

Trustees look after property at Lake Bank, Blea Brows, and the old railway line at Haws Bank.  As owners of the bed of the lake, the trustees appoint a Lake Warden who is authorised to issue licenses for the 180 moorings on Coniston Water.

2022 Fees

License fees remain at 2015 levels.  There is a waiting list.  For more information and to register your interest, please click on the link below to request a Waiting List application.

2023 Fees

License fees will increase by 10% in 2023 for the first time since 2015.  

Grants

Coniston Water encroaches on the five local parishes of Coniston, Torver, Blawith & Subberthwaite, Colton and Satterthwaite. Trustees accept grant applications from voluntary bodies and charities within these five parishes.
